Embellishing Large, Green, Enamel Light Fixtures

I'm "in recovery" after completing a six month project for  the McMenamin's Blue Moon Tavern and Grill in Portland, Oregon. I was commissioned to embellish the the outer surfaces with beads and got permission to add color and artistry to the way-too-bright-white interiors as well. As you can see in the "Before" picture below, the large enamel shades hang directly over the tables and yearned for a bit of drama.

I was able to play off the name, Blue Moon, and decorate the thirteen shades with patterns and lyrics that brought favorite songs about romancing in the moonlight to mind.

I'm going to let the photos speak for themselves ... if you have any questions about how they were done or are interested in more of my work, please contact me.

The theme for this on was "Fly me to the moon  ..."

The beading is really pretty when lit up at night
The McMenamin's staff paired the shades with the room decor

Finding the right beads and charms that would reflect the theme and the light was really fun.

I practiced the designs by doing pen and in on goose eggs.
